Mindful Awareness

I always liked those two words AWARENESS and MINDFULNESS.

I read so many books about those and their impact in our lives.

Definition of these two words are;

Awareness is knowledge that something exists, or understanding of a situation or subject at the present time based on information or experience.

Mindfulness is a technique in which paying full attention only on the present moment, experiencing thoughts, feelings, and sensations as it is but not judging them.

When these two words come together it make more sense to me. You know why? Because if you are aware but not mindful you can judge things according to your experiences, or your old core beliefs. And this can harm your life and effect your decisions.

Let me give you an example from my own daily experience.

When I am in the middle of the heavy traffic and my anger started to increase rapidly I am totally aware (understand) of the situation at that present moment but this does not change my anger barometer from going high to low! Unless I must put mindfulness into awareness. Than my reaction changes. Than I start to accept the situation, circumstances, people as they are. And accepting my anger and the sensations related with this anger without judging (- the people around me about how they drive or me being angry again!).

And that is a game changer. And that is 'Mindful Awareness'...
